The 2011 vintage at Château Climens is a very good to excellent harvest with ripe botrytis-affected Sémillon grapes. The high acidity and sugar concentration typical of Barsac provide the structure for long aging. Based on producer reputation, regional characteristics, and vintage quality, the wine is best enjoyed between 2023 and 2035 but can remain appealing beyond that due to the balance and concentration.
Food pairing
Pairs exceptionally well with foie gras, blue cheese (Roquefort), fruit-based desserts, baked apples, and nutty pastries. Also excellent as a dessert on its own.
