Tasting profile
Complex bouquet of wild strawberry, dark cherry, rose petal, sous-bois, spice box, and hints of forest floor. Palate is refined, with a core of red fruit, earth, mineral and subtle gamey notes; finish is persistent, silky and fresh.
Evolution: Primary fruit has faded into pure, ethereal aromatics. Tertiary notes (mushroom, leather, dried herbs) appear as wine ages further, with truffle and autumn leaf nuances in its second and third decades.
At peak: Peak offers haunting perfume, soft but vivid structure, with a lingering, perfumed finish that typifies great mature Grand Cru Burgundy.

The 2010 vintage in Burgundy is widely celebrated for its structure, freshness, and balance—hallmarks of a long-lived year. Domaine des Lambrays crafts Clos des Lambrays for elegance and age-worthiness; critics and collectors recognize this as a wine to appreciate over 25–35+ years. In 2024, bottles are mature but stable—vivid and aromatic, with many years of brilliance left, especially in large formats.

Sustainability
Sustainability score: 7/10
Domaine des Lambrays employs sustainable viticulture—no synthetic herbicides or pesticides, horse-plowing for some parcels, cover cropping, and increasing focus on biodiversity. Winery has made progress on energy conservation (natural gravity flow, recycled water use), lightweight bottle adoption, and partial solar energy in recent years, though these were limited in 2010.
While Domaine des Lambrays has greatly improved sustainability since the 2010s, at the time of the 2010 vintage the estate was working under organic principles (not yet certified), with strong commitment to minimal intervention, natural treatments and biodiversity. Recent vintages are more sustainable (certified organic, some biodynamic). The 2010 carries decent eco-profile for a Grand Cru—more sustainable than mass-market wines, but less so than current top biodynamic estates. Improvement continues under LVMH ownership since 2014.
