Tasting profile
Complex nose of dried cherry, black raspberry, rose petal, sous-bois, forest floor, and subtle spice. Palate is layered with sweet earth, dried herbs, leather, mushroom, and a core of red fruit. Silky, elegant, persistent finish.
Evolution: Primary fruit has given way to terroir-driven earth, floral, and gamey notes. Tannins and acidity now perfectly integrated.
At peak: Most bottles show the height of complexity and balance now; further age will reward with more savory and truffle character, though fruit core will gradually diminish.

From a top vintage (2010), this Premier Cru from Jean Grivot excels in age-worthiness. Grivot is among Nuits’ greatest, and Les Pruliers consistently produces wines with both robust structure and finesse. The 2010 vintage yields extended longevity, easily surpassing normal Premier Cru Burgundy timelines. The wine is in a window of exceptional evolution but can age gracefully into the next decade.

Sustainability
Sustainability score: 6/10
Grivot has long practiced lutte raisonnée (reasoned struggle/minimal intervention), emphasizing manual vineyard work, organic treatments when possible, and soil preservation. Herbicide and pesticide use is minimized, and gravitation of the estate towards more sustainable farming has increased after 2010.
While Jean Grivot does not hold formal organic or biodynamic labels for the 2010 vintage, the domaine has been committed to sustainable philosophies through mindful vineyard work and reduced chemical use. Water and energy conservation are customary, but official certification was not pursued until later. Overall footprint is moderate due to scale, short supply chains within Europe, but global exports (esp. to US/Asia) add transport carbon. Packaging is relatively traditional, and recycling rates are good by Burgundy standards.
