Tasting profile
Intense aromas of cherry, rose petal, violet, tar, menthol, and earthy truffle. Layers of red fruit, licorice, classic Bussia dark minerality, and spice. Tannic backbone, persistent finish.
Evolution: Tertiary notes of dried rose, forest floor, leather, and balsamic herbs will emerge with age. Tannins will soften, structure will integrate, perfume will intensify.
At peak: Opulent yet elegant mid-palate, complex aromatics, intricate savory-sweet interplay, fully resolved tannins, lasting harmony.

Barolo Bussia, especially from Poderi Luigi Einaudi, is known for its structure and longevity. 2019 is an excellent, classic-vintage with balance and age-worthy components. The wine will be most harmonious as tannins resolve and secondary/tertiary notes emerge, typically 10-15 years post-vintage.

Sustainability
Sustainability score: 7/10
Integrated pest management, use of organic compost and green manure, minimal chemical intervention, cover cropping, hand harvesting to reduce energy use. Focus on biodiversity and soil conservation. Water management is primarily traditional (rainfall), no irrigation commonly used in Barolo.
Poderi Luigi Einaudi has a long-standing commitment to sustainability, supported by Equalitas certification (a respected Italian standard for sustainable wine production). While not formally certified organic in 2019, many organic/biodiversity practices are used. Efforts are made to limit chemical use and promote environmental health in the vineyard and winery. Renewable energy initiatives and carbon footprint reduction are ongoing efforts. Packaging is not especially low-impact, but vineyard-level practices contribute to overall environmental stewardship.
