Sommelier's Window Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using the Sommelier's Window app for iPhone and Android. By using the app you agree to them.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
1. Who we are and acceptance
The Sommelier's Window app (the "Service") is published by Buckshot Digital Sales Inc. ("BDS Inc.", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, using the app as a guest, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does
Sommelier's Window helps you keep a wine cellar and understand your bottles. It lets you:
- - Add wines by typing, speaking a wine name, scanning a label, importing a CSV file, or choosing from our Discover lists
- - See estimated drinking windows, status, scores and tasting notes
- - Scan a wine list to find and compare wines
- - Keep ratings, notes, locations and reminders
The Service is informational. Drinking windows, scores, values, food pairings, tasting notes and other analyses are estimates produced with the help of AI and third-party sources. They can be wrong or out of date, and they are not a guarantee of how a particular bottle will taste or age. Storage conditions, bottle variation and personal taste all matter. They are not professional, financial, appraisal or medical advice. Do not rely on them to buy, sell, insure or value wine.
3. Eligibility and accounts
Age: You must be at least 21 years old, or the legal drinking age where you live if that is higher, to use the Service. It is not for children.
You can use limited features as a guest, or create an account with email, Sign in with Apple (iPhone) or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and tell us if you think your account has been misused.
4. Premium subscription and free plan
Free plan: A free account includes 5 wine analyses per month. Guests (no account) get 3 analyses in total. Some features, such as CSV export, need Premium. We may adjust the free plan and tell you in the app.
Sommelier's Window Premium is an auto-renewing subscription bought through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone:
- - Monthly: $2.99 per month (no free trial)
- - Annual: $24.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial
Prices are in US dollars as shown here and may vary by country and region, and local taxes may be added. The price shown in the app at purchase is the price that applies.
- - Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- - Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- - Free trial: the trial converts to a paid annual subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You are not charged if you cancel in time. The trial is offered once per account as the store allows.
- - Cancel anytime: on Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. On iPhone, open your Apple ID settings, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
- - Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple under their policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through their stores.
- - Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the store.
Subscriptions are managed with RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add: wine entries, notes, ratings, photos and other content. You give us a limited, worldwide licence to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service for you, such as saving your cellar, reading a label photo, and showing you results. Label photos you scan are stored as described in the Privacy Policy. General wine information created by an analysis (not your personal notes, prices or quantities) becomes part of our wine database and can be shown on public wine pages.
You promise that you have the right to upload what you submit and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights. Do not upload photos of people or private information.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- - Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to buy or give alcohol to anyone under the legal age
- - Reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract source code from the app
- - Use bots, scraping or other automated means to access the Service or copy our wine database at scale
- - Get around limits, paywalls or security, or share your account
- - Upload malicious files, offensive or misleading content, or try to disrupt the Service
7. Drink responsibly
Sommelier's Window does not sell alcohol and does not encourage drinking. If you choose to drink, do so responsibly, in moderation, and only where it is legal. Never drink and drive. Nothing in the Service is medical advice, and the Service does not tell you whether any wine is safe for you.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete Account) or at sommelierswindow.com/account-deletion. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the Service. If we end your access without a breach by you, we will give you reasonable notice where we can. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as the disclaimer and the limits of liability) continue after termination.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any analysis, score, value or drinking window is accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BDS Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, inaccurate wine analysis, lost value of wine, or service interruptions. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
11. Changes
We may update these terms or the Service. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
