Nebbiolo’s natural high acidity and moderate tannic structure give this Langhe Nebbiolo more aging potential than most entry-level reds. 2019 is an excellent, structured vintage, so expect this to age gracefully for close to a decade. It is not as concentrated as Vietti’s Barolo, so the peak is shorter (7-12 years), but the wine will show tertiary barolo-like notes in time.
Food pairing
Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, osso buco, grilled lamb chops, roasted duck, aged Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano, wild mushroom risotto.

Sustainability
Sustainability score: 7/10
Vietti practices sustainable vineyard management including integrated pest management (minimal systemic treatments), cover cropping, and soil preservation. Focus on biodiversity and hand-harvesting. Winery uses energy/water efficiency processes and composts organic waste. Lightweight packaging is sometimes used for exports.
Vietti is recognized for strong sustainability philosophy, minimizing chemical use and encouraging biodiversity in the Langhe. While not officially certified, the estate is considered a leader in environmental vineyard practices for the region. The lack of organic/biodynamic certification is due to risk of disease pressures unique to Nebbiolo and strict DOC requirements. Their focus on local resources, handwork, and soil health raises their sustainability profile, though global shipping adds carbon impact. Overall, Vietti ranks high among Piedmontese producers for responsible practices.
