Tasting profile
Potential subdued red berry and watermelon, rose petal, with more advanced honeyed or nutty notes from age. Vibrancy likely faded significantly; may show oxidized apple or herb notes.
Evolution: Lost much of youthful zest, fruit and floral diminished, now likely more tertiary or savory, possibly nutty or saline.
At peak: At peak, this wine showed bright strawberry, watermelon, orange zest and sea spray—now, only vestiges of these flashes may remain with a softer and deeper tone.

California Pinot Noir rosés, even premium estate-grown, are not meant for long aging. By 2024, this wine is over 9 years from vintage; best qualities were apparent within 1-3 years of release. If well preserved, may be enjoyable, but not expected to show peak aromatics or freshness.
Food pairing
Enjoy with smoked salmon, Niçoise salad, goat cheese, or grilled vegetables. If the wine has advanced notes, pair with charcuterie or aged cheeses.

Sustainability
Sustainability score: 8/10
Estate and grower vineyards use organic or sustainable viticulture, cover cropping, hand harvesting. Minimal chemical intervention, composting of pomace, use of lightweight glass bottles, some renewable energy use in winery, thoughtful water management (dry farming in some blocks, drip-irrigation elsewhere).
Red Car is regarded as one of Sonoma’s leading sustainable Pinot Noir producers. Though not fully certified organic or biodynamic, their SIP certification, organic conversion practices, energy use, and care for resource conservation place them above most non-certified peers. Still, there’s room for improvement in terms of full organic or carbon-neutral status, but for the 2014 vintage, they exemplify advanced sustainable practices compared to industry average.
