Seña is structured for very long cellaring, blending robust tannins and fresh acidity with premium fruit. Its construction from exceptional terroir and high-end Bordeaux varieties ensures it will hold—and likely improve—for two decades. Most bottles will show best after 7-8 years in bottle and carry their peak well for another 8-10.
Food pairing
Rack of lamb, dry-aged beef, wild game, mushroom risotto, truffle pasta, high-quality mature cheeses.
Serving
- Decant
- Yes (30 minutes) — The wine has firm tannins and is still relatively young, which can benefit from aeration to soften the tannins and enhance its aromatic profile.
Sustainability
Sustainability score: 9/10
Regenerative viticulture, dry farming, biodiversity reserves, integration of native flora, solar energy generation, minimal chemical inputs, recyclable lightweight glass, water recycling and conservation, wildlife corridors.
Seña is a pioneering Chilean producer in environmental stewardship, with both organic and sustainability certifications and ongoing biodynamic conversion. Vineyard and winery operations are close to carbon-neutral with major investments in renewable energy, water access management, and biodiversity. Packaging uses recycled, lightweight materials. Wine exports mean transportation emissions exist, but offsetting programs and local best practices moderate climate impact: hence, a nearly top-tier sustainability score.
